Hibou: Connecting Families While Enhancing Safety
Hibou is a safety app designed to maintain social connection while prioritizing your well-being. Leveraging 20 years of experience in lone worker technology and healthcare, Hibou empowers you to live life to the fullest, knowing your loved ones are informed and can assist if needed.
Easily check in with family and friends before engaging in any activity, keeping them updated on your whereabouts. Hibou utilizes GPS technology and customizable timers, allowing you to pursue your passions—from backyard adventures to global travels—without concern. Activate the in-app timer (up to 24 hours), and when you're safely back, simply end it. Need more time? Easily extend the timer with a single tap.
Should an emergency arise and you're unable to call for help, Hibou's automated system springs into action. If your timer expires, pre-selected contacts receive immediate notifications, including your last known location, ensuring swift assistance.
Enjoy daily peace of mind with Hibou's automated wellness checks. Schedule one or two daily check-ins via the app, website, or phone. Missed check-ins trigger reminders (app notifications, email, and/or phone calls), followed by a grace period and additional alerts. If you remain unresponsive, your contacts are notified.
Hibou also features a dedicated help button. A single press instantly sends a notification and your GPS location to your chosen contacts. While 9-1-1 remains crucial in emergencies, Hibou provides a valuable alternative for less critical situations requiring family or friend assistance.
