Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Akupara Games has already released several intriguing titles this year, including the Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre, atmospheric bazaar shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprisingly sharp wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment.
The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unusual ability to create universes from her very palm.
The game begins in the ramshackle mining colony shantytown. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment – a character both unsettling and captivating.
Exploring the dilapidated colony, with its quirky tea shops and other strange establishments, you eventually encounter Honin’s Tea House, Lila’s shop. Lila's enigmatic nature slowly unfolds as the game shifts between her perspective and the Master's.
Playing as Lila involves creating universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to produce mesmerizing visual worlds. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the Cult of Detachment's philosophies and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the underlying mysteries. Every character, be it human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration.
