Stellar Blade's highly anticipated update, Patch 1.009, including Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately introduced several game-breaking glitches. Shift Up, the developer, is actively working on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
Patch 1.009 caused significant problems for some players. A softlock prevents progress in a specific main quest within an earlier dungeon. Additionally, using the Photo Mode's selfie camera has triggered crashes for some, and new cosmetic items aren't rendering correctly on Eve.
Shift Up urges players to avoid forcing quest progression and await the hotfix. Attempts to circumvent the issue might lead to permanent softlocks, even after the patch is released.
NieR: Automata DLC and Enhanced Photo Mode
The 1.009 update delivers the NieR: Automata collaboration, a testament to the mutual respect between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro. Eleven exclusive items are available from Emil, who's set up shop within Stellar Blade's world.
The much-requested Photo Mode is finally here, letting players capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature.
To celebrate, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) to alter Tachy Mode's appearance. A "No Ponytail" option adds further customization. Other improvements include lip-sync support for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and numerous smaller bug fixes.
