In *The Exit 8*, players navigate through an endless underground passageway reminiscent of a Japanese metro station. Trapped in a repetitive loop, the environment—from tiles and lights to posters and a solitary man walking towards you—remains eerily constant. The core challenge lies in detecting anomalies within this loop. These could range from a subtly altered poster to flickering lights, or even more dramatic changes like a river of blood replacing the floor. The game's mechanics hinge on your ability to notice these changes and respond swiftly.

If you spot an anomaly, you must turn back; if not, continue forward. The objective is to reach the eighth exit without error, which means correctly identifying and reacting to eight anomalies in succession. Fail to do so, and you'll have to start over.

Inspired by the concept of liminal spaces and the eerie Backrooms, *The Exit 8* draws its aesthetic from real Japanese metro stations, such as Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in Tokyo. The game's setting immerses players in claustrophobic corridors and repetitive architecture, enhancing the unsettling feel.
