Iron Patriot Soars with Top Decks in Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's 2025 Season Pass introduces the Dark Avengers, spearheaded by Iron Patriot. This guide analyzes whether Iron Patriot is worth the Season Pass purchase, examining his mechanics and optimal deck strategies.

Iron Patriot's Mechanics

Iron Patriot is a 2-cost, 3-power card with a unique ability: "On Reveal: Add a random 4, 5, or 6-Cost card to your hand. If you’re winning here after the next turn, give it -4 Cost.”

This straightforward effect adds a high-cost card to your hand. If you control the lane after your next turn, that card's cost is significantly reduced (4-cost becomes 0, 5-cost becomes 1, 6-cost becomes 2). This can lead to game-winning plays, particularly with cards like Doctor Doom. However, committing to a lane is crucial for this strategy. Cards like Juggernaut, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Rocket & Groot both synergize with and counter Iron Patriot's effects.

Best Iron Patriot Decks

Iron Patriot's versatility allows inclusion in various decks, but he excels in specific strategies. He's predicted to be a strong addition to Wiccan-style decks and cheaper Devil Dinosaur hand-generation strategies.

Wiccan-Style Deck:

This deck leverages Wiccan's energy generation and Galactus's power boost. The goal is to amass energy for a powerful final turn, using US Agent and Rocket & Groot for lane control. Iron Patriot's card generation adds to this late-game power surge. Key cards include Kitty Pryde, Zabu, Hydra Bob (or high-power substitutes), Psylocke, Iron Patriot, US Agent, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Daughter of Galactus, Wiccan, Legion, and Alioth.

Devil Dinosaur Deck:

This deck revives the classic Devil Dinosaur strategy, enhanced by Iron Patriot and Victoria Hand (Spotlight Cache card). While Iron Patriot doesn't directly summon Devil Dinosaur, the combination with Victoria Hand creates powerful late-game scenarios. Key cards include Maria Hill, Quinjet, Hydra Bob (or a 1-cost substitute), Hawkeye & Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sentinel, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Agent Coulson, Shang-Chi, Wiccan, and Devil Dinosaur.

Is Iron Patriot Worth Buying the Season Pass?

Iron Patriot is a strong card, but not game-breaking. His value depends on your playstyle. If you enjoy hand-generation decks, the Season Pass is a worthwhile investment. However, if you prefer other strategies, there are viable 2-cost alternatives, making the purchase less essential. Consider the other Season Pass rewards before deciding.
