Marvel Rivals Dev Commits to Bi-Monthly Hero Releases

By GeorgeApr 16,2025

NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as part of the game's ongoing seasons. In an interview with Metro, the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, outlined the ambitious post-launch strategy. He confirmed that the team plans to release a new playable character every half-season, which translates to roughly every six weeks.

"Every season, we'll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We'll actually be breaking down each season into two halves," Chen explained. "The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just want to continue to enhance the experience and keep everyone excited in our community."

As each season progresses, fans are left eagerly anticipating the reveal of the next hero. Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls set the stage with the introduction of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second half. These iconic characters from the Marvel universe have already made a significant impact, but maintaining that momentum will be a challenge for NetEase.

The game launched with a robust roster including heroes like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, the potential for future additions is vast. Rumors suggest that Blade might join the fray in Season 2, and fans are hopeful for characters like Daredevil, Deadpool, and other X-Men members. Given the game's early success, NetEase seems poised to continue expanding the Marvel Rivals roster.

In addition to new heroes, Marvel Rivals Season 1 brought a series of balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates promised in the future.
