"Monster Hunter Wilds Surpasses 10 Million Sales, Capcom Reveals Success Secrets"

By ZacharyApr 27,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds continues to break records, recently surpassing 10 million units sold, setting a new first-month sales benchmark for Capcom. This achievement eclipses the company's previous records, with Wilds outpacing even the phenomenal sales of Monster Hunter World, which sold 8 million copies in just three days.

In a statement to the press, Capcom highlighted several reasons behind Wilds' unprecedented success. Key among them is the introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, allowing players across different platforms to play together. Additionally, the simultaneous launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC—unlike World, which had a delayed PC release—has significantly broadened the game's appeal.

Capcom further elaborated, "The title provides an environment where a wider range of players can enjoy the game together with the introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, and a simultaneous release on PlayStation 5 system, Xbox Series X|S, and PC."

The inclusion of innovative features like the new Focus Mode mechanic and seamless transitions between settlements and ecosystems has enhanced the immersive experience. "Additionally, the introduction of the new Focus Mode mechanic and the implementation of seamless movement between settlements and ecosystems have provided an even more immersive gaming experience, while the fusion of numerous new elements with Monster Hunter’s appeal has generated significant excitement, all of which led to the company's first-month sales record of over 10 million units sold."

Looking ahead, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive ongoing content updates. Title Update 1, scheduled for April 4, introduces a fan-favorite monster and the Grand Hub, a new social space within the game. Title Update 2, planned for the summer, will feature the return of Lagiacrus. While Monster Hunter World remains Capcom's best-selling game with 21.3 million units sold, there's a strong indication that Wilds will eventually surpass this figure.
