Under the banner of my project, "Digital Revolution of Devarattam," I am proud to introduce the Devarattam app. This initiative is dedicated to celebrating and spreading awareness about Devarattam, a traditional folk dance of Tamil Nadu, and its distinguished awardees. The app is a heartfelt tribute to several legends of Devarattam, including the retired teacher and Kalaimamani awardee, Mr. M Kumararaman, Kalaimani Mr. M Kannan Kumar, and Kalaimani Mr. K Nellai Manikandan from Zamin Kodangipatti, who have been honored with the prestigious Kalaimamani, Kalaimani, and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awards, respectively. Additionally, this project is dedicated to my guru, Mr. E Rajakamulu, and other beloved legends of Devarattam.

Devarattam, historically performed by the Rajakambalathu Nayakkar, is a vibrant dance form that comprises 32 to 72 steps. The basic set includes 32 steps, with the others being variations of these foundational moves. In their performances, dancers hold a kerchief in each hand and wear Salangai on each leg, all while playing the traditional musical instrument known as the Deva Thunthumi. Through the Devarattam app, I aim to bring the beauty and cultural significance of this dance to a wider audience, ensuring that the legacy and achievements of its awardees are recognized and appreciated.
