Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several publishers have confirmed their top titles will return for the 2025 edition. Garena's Free Fire was an early confirmation, and now Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has also been confirmed.

The 2024 World Cup featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These tournaments brought teams from around the globe to Riyadh to compete. Selangor Red Giants claimed victory in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress triumphed in the Women's Invitational, ending Team Vitality's impressive 25-game win streak.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear to be returning. However, a notable observation is the lack of truly major championships represented. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary competition. This is a double-edged sword. It avoids overshadowing established leagues, but it could also be perceived as secondary to the main MLBB events.

Nevertheless, fans of the games involved will undoubtedly welcome the return of so many familiar titles to this prestigious tournament.
