Google Play Store May Automate App Launches

Google Play Store may soon introduce a game-changing feature: automatic app launch upon download. This potential addition, discovered through an APK teardown, could streamline the app installation process significantly.

The Details

Android Authority reports Google is developing "App Auto Open," a feature that would automatically open newly downloaded apps. This eliminates the extra steps of locating the app icon and verifying completion. The app will launch immediately upon successful download.

Currently, this is based on analysis of Play Store version 41.4.19, making it unconfirmed and without a release date. However, if implemented, the feature will be entirely optional, allowing users to enable or disable auto-launch as preferred.

How it Might Work

Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear for approximately five seconds, possibly accompanied by a sound or vibration alert, ensuring users won't miss the notification even during other activities.

While this information is unofficial, we will provide updates as soon as Google releases further details.
