Nintendo's Alarmo alarm clock: Japan release delayed despite global availability.
Nintendo has announced a postponement of the Alarmo alarm clock's general retail release in Japan due to insufficient stock. Initially scheduled for February 2025, the launch is now delayed indefinitely. This decision follows unexpectedly high demand.
Currently, Nintendo Japan is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan, starting mid-December with shipments in early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date is yet to be announced. The impact on international stock remains unclear, with a global general release still planned for March 2025.
The Alarmo, launched in October, is an interactive alarm clock featuring iconic melodies from popular Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with more soundtracks planned via future updates. Its initial global launch, including online sales via Nintendo Switch Online, led to overwhelming popularity, prompting Nintendo to halt online orders and switch to a lottery system. The alarm clock quickly sold out in both physical and online Nintendo stores in Japan and even New York.
Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general sale will be shared soon.
