Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary renowned for its action-packed titles like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has hinted at significant projects to commemorate its 30th anniversary in 2025. While famous for these franchises, the studio's recent successes also include the critically acclaimed Nioh series and collaborations with Square Enix on titles such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. 2024 also saw the release of the PlayStation 5 exclusive, Rise of the Ronin.

In a recent interview, Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda alluded to upcoming releases designed to befitting of this milestone anniversary. Although details remain scarce, the statement fuels speculation about potential new entries in the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden franchises. Yasuda's quote: "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion," keeps anticipation high.

The anticipation is further fueled by the already announced Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a side-scrolling title revealed at The Game Awards 2024. The last mainline Ninja Gaiden game was 2014's Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The Dead or Alive franchise, meanwhile, hasn't seen a mainline release since 2019's Dead or Alive 6, with only spin-offs released since then.
