Wolcen Unveils "ExtrAction RPG" Project Pantheon, Blending Diablo and Escape from Tarkov

Wolcen Studio has recently announced Project Pantheon, an exciting new free-to-play combat role-playing game that incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing phase is set to kick off on January 25 for players in Europe, with North American players joining the fray on February 1.

"We've combined the intense tension and risk-reward system of an extraction shooter with the dynamic battle mechanics of combat role-playing games," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from classics like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon aims to deliver a unique gaming experience. "We are eager to gather feedback from our players," Cirkulete added. In this game, players will step into the shoes of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a shattered world.

In Project Pantheon, players will navigate through maps, engaging in combat with both AI and other players. The stakes are high—successful evacuations allow players to keep their hard-earned trophies, while failure means losing all loot. The game offers a rich experience where players can build their own bases, customize their equipment, and experiment with various playstyles.

The game's universe is inspired by world mythologies, with the initial setting, "Destiny's Edge," evoking the spirit of Scandinavian legends. Despite being in the early stages of alpha, Wolcen Studio is committed to involving the community actively to refine and enhance Project Pantheon. The foundation of the game's economy will be built on player trade, adding another layer of strategic depth to the gameplay.
