In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, Elden Ring Nightreign, fans expecting the classic poisonous swamps synonymous with From Software titles will be disappointed. Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, confirmed in a recent discussion with journalists that these iconic swamps will not feature in the game. Although a similar environment appeared in the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, Kitao clarified that it is an entirely different location. The absence of these swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is famously known for his affection towards swamp areas. Miyazaki's influence led to the inclusion of such zones in both Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series, but he did not participate in the development of Elden Ring Nightreign.

On a brighter note, there's a possibility that Elden Ring Nightreign might introduce an additional two-player mode. Initially, the developers had announced only one-player and three-player modes, citing content balancing issues as the reason for excluding a two-player option. However, From Software is currently exploring the feasibility of adding this mode to the game, though no final decision has been made yet.
Elden Ring Nightreign is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles, promising an engaging experience for players across different platforms.
