Proxi, The Sims Creator's New Game, Has More Details Revealed

Will Wright, creator of The Sims, recently unveiled more details about his new AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, during a Twitch livestream. This highly anticipated title, first hinted at in 2018, is finally taking shape, with Gallium Studio revealing more about its unique memory-based gameplay.

A Deep Dive into Interactive Memories

The livestream, hosted by BreakthroughT1D (an organization dedicated to type 1 diabetes research), provided a fascinating glimpse into Proxi's core mechanics. Wright explained that the game uses players' personal memories as its building blocks. Players input memories as text, and the game transforms them into animated scenes, editable with in-game assets for enhanced realism.

Each memory ("mem") added to the game trains its AI, populating a 3D "mind world" – a navigable environment of hexagons. As the mind world grows, so does the number of Proxies representing friends and family, linked to memories on a customizable timeline. Remarkably, these Proxies can even be exported to other game worlds, such as Minecraft and Roblox!

The goal is to create a deeply personal and magical experience, bringing memories to life in a unique and interactive way. Wright emphasized this focus on the player, stating that the more the game centers on the player's own experiences, the more engaging it becomes.

Proxi is now featured on Gallium Studio's website, with platform announcements expected soon.
